What is a knob?

The knob is a manual control element connected with the switch to control the opening or opening degree of the switch. Its edge is generally engraved with one or a series of labels, mostly circular convex structure, disc, etc., to realize the rotation control of the knob.

Although touch screen is very popular now, from another point of view, not all use scenarios will fall in love with touch screen. For example, for cars, although a whole touch screen will appear more modern, some car manufacturers still insist on retaining the central control system with the knob as the core. From their point of view, the current touch screen interface will distract the driver's attention. After all, safety is always the priority.

This is not an exception. Many product categories that have not yet been Internet-based, in addition to the ECG monitor in the hospital, or the mixer in the school broadcasting room, as well as classic radio or speaker products, and even some large household appliances, still adhere to the design of the knob and give play to the remaining waste heat.

For this reason, the unique physical structure of the knob can still bring the interaction that traditional buttons cannot achieve. On some audio devices, the knob is not only a controller but also an ornament to improve the texture level.

Just as some people are still addicted to manual driving even when automatic cars are popular today, the built-in item attributes of knobs can not be completely replaced by the touch screen.
